Working so hard to stop Pippa from jumping up and as soon as you say "Pippa" she plants her little bottom on the floor and moves it around like a sanding machine until her paw creeps up and pats your leg !
Whaat a good girl !
Ah. Good girl.
I can appreciate that, my little guy gives a desperate little sigh and hops at our feet when we say "off"! It is endearing to see how hard they try to control themselves!
LOL. That's Abbey. Right now we are prepping for an obedience trial this weekend and one of the commands is a "sit for exam." The dog has to sit, you walk away from them to the end of the 6ft leash and face them. The judge then comes up to the dog from the side and pets their head. The dog shouldn't show resentment or anything like that and can't get up or move out of position.
Abbey LOOOOOOOVES people, so this has been difficult because her tail wags so hard and she wants to give the person kisses. haha. She is getting better, though!
want video! Darling baby girl!
Maxx had a hard time with this also. He has finally got it but it took almost a year. It was quite a challange to keep his butt planted and still. He still slips once in a while, not to jump but to flop over on his back for a belly rub. It is so hard not to laugh. I definitely think Labs have cornered the market on trying to please their people. If they tried any harder their little heads would just explode!

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
They do try so hard to please. Gracie doesn't jump up but she likes to crawl right into your lap if you start to pet her. So we would quit petting her until she sat down. Now she has figured out that as long as her butt stays on the floor she can put her paws in your lap and wiggle forward from there. It's quite the sight her trying to stay balanced with her butt on the floor and move closer and closer to you!!
I'm trying to teach Dixie that when I come in the door at night, she doesn't get petted until she sits. It's difficult because she is so excited. And it's very hard for me to ignore her, I just want to smooch her.
They do love to make their people happy. Good effort, Pippa!

That is so cute. I can picture it.
