    DefaultTess saw the surgeon today.

Good and not so good news. Tess is weight bearing as she should and Katherine is very happy with that.
What isn't so good is the joint isn't stable and need to do surgery. TTO ( or TPLO or TTA) fixes the movement back and forward and this is good, but there is too much rotation side ways. I asked if we build the muscles up will it help. She said didn't think so, but worth trying. She is to see Tess in 2 weeks.

If they don't do it the knee becomes more unstable and she will keep falling over. Her leg gave out on her last night and she fell over.I can't beleive it. We have done everything right. Don't know who is more upset..me of Katherine.

I thought swimming in Erns pool might help, but she said it is too early as cold water hurts where the plate is.

I was going to ask you if your surgeon had mention anything like that. Katherine has been checking for clicking as she says that is the meniscus and often have to fix that. That has been fine, I am not sure if she couldn't move the leg as much until today so not able to pick it up.

    Darn...it sucks..

There was no mention of sideways movement at any time during the consultations.

Jasper's knee clicked at about 5 weeks and I panicked over nothing.

It started clicking again at 10 weeks for about a week until the noise disappeared again.

I suspect that this is because the surgeon didn't remove enough of the meniscus at the time of operating but I was told by the Vet that this clicking is normal and nothing to worry about.

Thank goodness because my knees click all of the time.

Chris - prayers she builds enough muscle to make it better w/out operating.

Col - maybe they should just shoot you!

Damn! That poor dog is doomed. Let's hope for a positive report in 2 weeks.

How are you going to build the muscles up? Supplements?

I have no idea how I am going to do it. At the time I thought yeah I can do it....but now..Usually a good nights sleep and everything is fine in the morning. I can't sleep.
She fell over again tonight. She is fine until she goes to turn and that is when the leg goes. Poor wee girl. She has been on supplements and had the 4th Pentossan injection.

    Ugh...that SUCKS!

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out with no additional surgeries.
