Because of the excessive, dangerous heat for most of the summer we didn't do a whole lot of ball retrieving. We started back up a couple of weeks ago, short spurts at a time to give the boys' bodies time to adjust to the activity.
I think we overdid it yesterday. Cool temps (in the 60s F) kinda made us forget to be careful about muscle strain. Flynnie was just as exuberant as ever, maybe a flying twirl too many.
He's SO sore today! First time in his life he didn't even finish his breakfast! Unheard of. So we're all just laying low today. I gave him one aspirin this morning and he's moving a little bit better this afternoon.
Not only did mom overdo with the boys, mom also forgets they are 10 years old. They have attitudes of puppies and slowing-down bodies of... older dogs.
I'm sure he'll be fine but some good JL thoughts would go a long way toward that.
(I'll try to get some good pics of my lovely invalid this afternoon.)
Seamus and Flynn
Poor boy, sending some healing, feel better soon thoughts his way!
Poor lad. You are right Nance. You do see them slowing down at ten years old !
Take time lad at your age ! Not too much rushing around - It's not good for you - just ask Jasper :-(
Good thoughts for the birthday boy. hope he feels better soon.
