I noticed swelling in her ankle yesterday and thought keep an eye on that. This morning still the same and when I came home at lunch time it was like a small tennis ball she was holding her leg up again, and not looking too well.
By the time she saw the vet the swelling had gone down a little, she was putting her leg down and bounced all over the vets.
The surgeon and my vet are not sure why as the wound is good, with no sign of infection. They have given her new antibiotics in case it is infection starting and a bunch of other meds.
As soon as we left the vets she held her leg up again and an hour later the swelling started.
My vet thinks the reason she isn't drinking is pain or the meds making her feel sick.
She started licking her feet at the vets so there was a discussion about when we put her back on Pred. The surgeon wants to wait a little longer, but my vet wants to get her on a small dose before the itching becames bad. She can go from good to bad in a few hours.
Poor sweet girl. Sending good thought your way for Tessa and for you, Chris.

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
Poor baby girl. Prayers for Tess' full recovery.

I hope it's nothing serious Chris.
I was expecting a lot of swelling on Jasper's leg after his op, but it didn't happen. I commented on it when I went back after six weeks, and he said that this sometimes happens but that swellings are not unusual.
Best of thoughts for Tess !!
Good thoughts for her!
Swelling in the leg is normal after these procedures.
If it is fluid-you can massage the pocket in an upward (upward meaning up towards her butt) motion.
This will help the body reabsorb the fluid.
Good thoughts for Tessa.
This is common, Chris. Are you icing it down? That really helped with Seamus.
