DefaultMy model Erns went on strike. lol. (pic of Tessas sling.)

I have been trying to make Tessa a sling to help keep her back leg up. Erns was a willing model at first then refused. After the 4-5 try he decided no more and would run away when I came near him with it.
I tried treats, threating his crate, and all I got was the stink eye. Nothing worked. Eventually I said''Erns come and put your coat on."
He stood still and let me make alterations. lolol.

What did you use?. you could probably get Jasper up the steps, or in and out of the car. She is too heavy for me.

I am too mean to buy one.lol. Not even sure we can get anything like that in N.Z. Vets told me to use a towel. My hands are small and I couldn't hold her so thought there has to be a better way.

I don't like the hard bucket style cones and can't get those round ones so I am working on making one. Poor Erns will leave home shortly with all this modelling things. lolol.

I used the round collar on Jasper, but if he had wanted to, I'm sure that he could have licked his wound. I wasn't that worried as it was stapled , but he didn't show any inclination to lick the wound.

My friend bought a fabric cone that works well on he Lab. Much better than the plastic leg destruction cones.

I helped Jasper with a hand under his backend - never thought about making a strap but as I only needed it twice a day to get him into the car,it wasn't really necessary.

I splashed out on a ramp, but should have bought steps instead as he tended to rush up the ramp so I abandoned that after a couple of tries.

Tessa is a licker. I slept on the couch last night and she woke me a few times licking and groaning. I thought I would try to make a fabric cone, or the round one.Her leg is stitched.

I have a ramp on my watch list while I thing about it. I will use one for Erns, but not sure it is the right one.Never thought of them rushing up. These Labs can be in pain and still have the energy to move fast when the need arises.
