Anyone have problems with hot spots? Sedona had a hot spot about two or three years ago. She just recently had one on the bottom mid tail and then within a day or so on the top mid tail. Now a couple weeks later she has one on her right upper back leg just below the little wisps of fur. She is back on her treatment plan and her what I refer to as "the flower" as it is a big round blue flower print thing to keep her from biting. She injured everyone with her cone and tore it to pieces LOL. Any information would be appreciated.

Isn't it great to have a sister
No hot spot experience here. Just wanted to say how beautiful she is.
You can try Gold Bond to take the itch out.
I haven't had a hot spot in 4.5 years...since we went grain free. Previously, Ruby had one or two every summer.

UGH. Just went through this. A round of oral antibiotics and antibacterial ointment from the vet cleared up TWO hotspots that showed up on my lab on each cheek, under his ear flaps. The vet shaved the hair on both so air could reach them. They take so long to heal and he had to wear the cone of shame for weeks. I also cleaned each hot spot twice a day with a mixture of water and rubbing alcohol to dry them out. It's been so humid for months and that doesn't help.
A Judge at a show told us to get "Gentaspray" for hot spots. We found that using that combined with Gold Bond powder worked better than anything else we've tried.
Going through this right now with my hypothyroid boy. Gold Bond cures his up almost instantly, he's also on a special diet; but since he isn't on meds yet because he has one more level to drop, we just monitor him constantly.

Our puppy had one when he was just little and our first visit to the vet she said to give him Fish oil every day and it would really help with it. It did, and he loves his fish oil!
