I took my 2 year old daughter to the park to feed the birds and of course Layla was with me. Lately, when I have been walking through the park I have been putting Layla in a sit stay around 20 feet from the birds. Today, my baby girl was feeding the birds and maybe 1 in 10 throws is more than 10 feet. So, the pidgins came in a lot closer. At their closest they were less than 3 feet in front of us. Layla wanted to jump out of her skin, but she held her stay. This lasted for around 10 minutes until she finally broke and lurched forward. She was such a trooper. I put her in another stay later on and she held without breaking. She took a dip in the river too around 50 feet away from the birds. She will listen to me off leash if the birds are that far away, but any closer and I am playing with fire.
Wow...that is some willpower!! Good job Layla!
Good girl Layla!

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
It's good to challenge them every once in a while. Sounds like she did well.
