DefaultTessa does have a ruptured cruciate.

She is booked in to have a Triple tibial osterotomy on Thursday. I am not sure what to do so going to sleep on it and hope tomorrow it is clear.

1...The surgeon I thought would do it is letting his off sider do it. She said it is a new proceedure and she hasn't done many. This threw me. Kate the vet said TPLO isn't done here any more. The other option is send Tess to Massey vet hospital where they will do an even newer proceedure.

2...I am away in 2 weeks for 2 weeks and we discussed if we could leave it until then with her on crate rest. Don't want her in pain this long and told arthritis can start quickly an a month, so sooner it is done the better. Garry is great, but I want to make sure the vets instructions are followed. Which is 8 weeks crate.

Other reason they want to get it done quickly is we have a small window she can be off Pred before we may need to increase if she starts itching. They would like her off Pred before the surgery and the first 2 weeks as she will heal better.

She is in pain and the leg has a huge lump on it. My poor Ma Brown.

Bugger Chris! What is it with dogs getting injuries around here lately? Massey sounds like your best option but the ride up there could be tough on her unless you can sedate her. Sounds like you might have to postpone the trip?

Well...there is my other worry. I am going for my neices 16th and she is so looking forward to me coming. I have to. First break in 2 years. What do I do...family or dog. I am going to call the airline tomorrow and see if I can shorten it or I lose the $800 air fare

I have been thinking with Massey I can not be sure it will be any better vet.Plus she is away from home longer and the ride there and back. Kate is working under David who is the lower North Island Massey. I wanted to say "Noo.noo..I want David," but it is unfair to Kate. She did it on her dog. My head is bursting.

    Damn damn damn.

The specialist that did Jasper's TPLO do one a day throughout the year so they got plenty of practice.

I don't like their service though. I sent them an email last week and no reply !

Sounds as though Tessa's rupture is more serious than Jasper's. He didn't develop a lump at all although there was a pronounced clicking as he walked which is the ligament rubbing on the meniscus/cartilage whichever. It still does it now so whether they didn't remove enough of the ligament I don't know.

I came back to ask if his limp could be the meniscus. They told me today they sometimes have to fix that.

They thought as it came on suddenly and a lump it could be either the cruciate or bone cancer. I have been sick with worry.s I don't want the cruciate, better than the other.

How long did Jasper have his staples or stitches or what ever?

    Good thoughts for Jasper.
