I decided to take them to the beach for their first swim in my lunch break. They were having a wonderful time in the sea when I heard a loud yelp. I presummed Erns hip had gone out as it does so gently walked him, then took him to the car calling Tess as I went. I was drying him and thought where is she. Looked back and she was laying at the edge of the sea. I called her and thought something isn't right so went down towards her. She couldn't get up at first, then came towards me on 3 legs before falling down.I felt so bad poor wee girl.
I took her straight to the vets. When she tried to manipulate her leg Tessy cried out so vet is 99% sure it has torn and will need surgery so booked in for xray on Monday. Vet said take her straight home and give her Tramadol, then another with dinner as she is in a lot of pain.
We have come a long way in crate training, but still have a way to go. She will go to on her own, and I close the door for an hour or so if I am in the house, but if I am out or any longer she panics and breaks out the top of the crate.
I am so sorry, Chris, poor Tessa. Good thoughts and prayers for better news at the vets. Feel better, Tresses.

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
So sorry Chris. Sending good thoughts and prayers for Tess. Please keep us updated.

Good thoughts and prayers here for you and Tessa! Poor little honeypot! She's had a rough go b4 you got her - she'll make it thru this with you by her side!
I know that panic feeling Chris
I hope he's wrong, but it does sound the same as Jasper.
What I will say is that Jasper HATES crates and being penned, but he has coped for the past 9 weeks and has pretty much come to accept it as the norm.
Poor Tess - poor you !
I am so sorry Chris. She has been through so much.
