Strange person: Oh, a golden. I grew up with goldens.
Me: It's a lab.
Strange person: Are you sure? He can't be pure breed though.
Me: Yes, I'm sure and he is 100 % lab.
Strange person: I know Goldens and he is clearly part golden.
Me: *ignoring her last comment* Let's go, Roffe.
It's not the first time someone mistakes him for a golden but it is the first time someone argues with me over what breed my puppy is.

That's pretty dumb but not as dumb as the moron that tried to tell me my Pug was a Shih Tzu!
We have a Golden pup near us at the moment ! Very similar, but Roffe is nowhere near hairy enough and a different head shape altogether !
Apparently Diesel is a Rottweiler. Or a "mini" Lab because despite being full grown he is nowhere near as big as people who don't even have dogs think a Lab should be! People also assume he is a female (despite his blue collar & lead) because he doesn't always lift to pee.
I get asked if he's a golden retriever all the time - or a rhodesian or a viszla (sp?) I think it's the color

Tank is supposedly a Great dane/pit bull mix, lol. If you don't know the breed I can kind of get the Great Dane part but not the pit bull part.
~It doesn't matter how smart the dog is,it matters how smart the owner is.
We were asked so many funny questions about our Corgi, almost always "what kind of mix is he?" or "is he part weiner dog?" I've already been asked about Smokey too...is he part black lab? I felt like saying "yep, the black part."
When our son was a baby he had (still does) huge brown eyes, I'm fair skinned and Finnish, his dad is dark haired, brown eyed French. A lady looked at us, then at the baby and asked "what race is he?"
