I couldn't be happier right now! After talking to my vet and figuring out a diet, Abbey is finally eating.. and with much gusto, too!
I'm currently cooking her turkey and sweet potatoes, supplementing with a multi-vitamin for dogs, salmon oil mix, calcium and probiotics. So far so good! She's been devouring it, both breakfast and dinner, for a couple of weeks. I'm also doing this as a food trial to try to figure out what she's allergic to. I suspect that it is grain and possibly beef, so in a few months, I'll try switching to ground beef for a while and see if she is itchy and has any skin breakouts.
We'll see what happens down the road, but the diet is balanced and she eats it, so there's nothing more I can ask! Now I hope we can get that 5 lbs she lost back on her.

Good job being persistent to find what works for her.
That's great news. Glad you found something that works for her.
So glad its working for her and you Justine! I'm trying to hide this thread from Sammi as she is gazing over my shoulder, wondering why Abbey is getting turkey and sweet potatoes everyday, and she has to settled for her kibble and only gets sardines once a week
LOL. Crap, I wish Abbey would eat kibble - it'd be so much easier!
WTG Abbey! Great news!!!
