DefaultMore on Wes and his CONEdition

Talked to our reg vet, on whom I was waiting for lab results (hah!) for the wound site.

There are THREE forms of icky infection at the toe. The antibiotic that he just finished addressed one of them.

So rather than play a game of pin the antibiotic on the infection source, we're moving ahead w/the surgery.

Regular vet 1,000% agreed w/the idea to have the surgery done at the office of Wes' cardiologist. She's prepping a packet (lab results [hah!]; film; chart notes) for me to pick up and deliver to Vet #2.

So early next week, it's another round of Holter montor for Mr. Wes. Followed as soon as possible w/the surgery.

ALL OF WHICH MEANS he stays in the cone for at least another week.

Oy. If at the end of all this he's even still SPEAKING to me, it'll be a miracle.

I hate that holter.....they shave Buffy, which irritates her skin, and then those electrode pads are SO sticky, they are a nightmare to pull off, esp. on freshly shaven skin. I usually just cut the wire and leave them on til they get ready to fall off (I call them her extra nipples).

    Anyway, good luck with everything!!!

No. But I've upheld my end of the bargain and gotten nowhere near him w/the camera....

Gosh, the poor guy. I hope it's all over and done with before Christmas rolls around. You can bribe him with lots of gifts from Santa Paws

Hope all goes well and he heals up fast and both of you will have that nasty thing out of your hair.

Good thoughts for Wes, and I am sure he will forgive you when the cone comes off. Well soon after the cone comes off. A week after maybe. Well, a month after maybe, could be several months, oh! No! I don't think it will be a whole year.
