DefaultTess is on her way to the vet hospital for tests.

They are testing her heart and couple of other things. It was hard seeing her go. It is 3 hours away and yesterday my vet decided to take her as he wants to discuss her allergies with them and look at some new equipment.

The allergy testing didn't show much which left us all gob smacked. When I walked in he said she is in a bad state isn't she, so he can't understand it. She is allergic to the yeast infections she has and even more weird is kibble. Not eating...inhaling or touching it.

She is to go back on pred, and continue with the antibitoics. This is the last thing I want as I am sure all this is making her worse. We could not beleive how bad she has been this month when she wasn't this bad before the Pred. Vets are stumped.

The allergy vet said as she has had it so long it will be difficult to treat and most likely we never will be able to. My poor wee girl. He said by the look of her coat in the short time I have had her she has made much better progress than other dogs he has seen. Hearing this was comforting, but as mean as it sounds I can't sustain her huge vet bills long term, so I am disappointed as I was hoping for answers.

The vets think the long term yeast infections may have caused other problems.

Oh no I hope they're able to figure out some kind of long-term plan for her, so that she doesn't have to stay on the pred forever.

Chris ... is she at a point where she doesn't/can't enjoy life any longer? Carol and I had to face that question every day for several months with Cappy until he made it clear that he wasn't getting better and wouldn't be able to in the future. Wishing the best for both of you.
Remi and Rusty aren't my whole life. They're trying to fill the hole in my heart left by Cappy's passing.

I hear you Jim. Honestly I am not sure. The last month has been hell for her with the only thing getting us through is the the thought they could help. Lack of sleep, sad for her and with vets and family telling me I was stupid to take her right, my brain isn't right. Through it all she wags her tail eats, and loves everyone. Amazing wee dog.

I am torn between starting her on the pred again, and trying something else without pred. Massey vets may have an answer and a few good sleeps I may have an answer.
