    DefaultArtemis's new kitty sisters...

    _MG_0621.jpg

Meet Jazz (black and white) and Blues (grey and white) our two month old kittens. I'm such a sucker for a pretty face. A friend offered me Jazz because she knew that our elderly tuxedo cat is in failing health and the kids have been upset about the idea of having to let her go. She showed up with Jazz but mentioned to my husband and kids that she had two more, one of whom was a grey and white tuxedo female. My husband said 'You know I've always said we should have a couple of kittens at least once while the kids are still at home'...what could I say....he's right, he had said that and he'd also tried to talk me into two dogs last year. I held out on the dogs...at least kittens stay smaller and can be left home alone when we travel.

So now our household is composed of an almost 15 year old cat, a 15 month old dog, 2 9 week old kittens, a 13 year old daughter, a 16 year old son and us two parents...I think we've got enough living things in our house now!

All the pets are adjusting well to each other. The elderly cat (Trouble) mostly just ignores everyone else although I did see her lick one kitten's face the other day (then hiss at her to back off!). Artemis loves the kittens and Blues is pretty tolerant of doggie kisses. Jazz doesn't like them but she likes to stalk the doggy's tail. Blues puts her head in the dog's dish while the dog is eating and the dog just ignores her and keeps on eating. Eventually the kitty catches on that she better back off before the dog gets to the end of the dog food Trouble has always done this too. There must be some kitty language that tells the dog how low she is on the totem pole if the cat eats from her dish while she's eating....

Nothing cuter than 2 kittens. We have 2 that are now 5 years old. We had so much fun with them and still do. Boone, our lab, loves them both and they love him. Have fun !!!

    ^^Yeah, me too ^^
The best I can do is get any two or three of the above family members into one shot at a time. The picture above is of my 13 year old daughter and the kittens.
I have some that have Artemis and the kittens, but then either dog or one kitten is a blur! I have a picture of both kids cleaned up at Easter, but they're not smiling :-)
Last fall I posted a video of "Trouble" sorting Artemis out...
