    Takea look at Nutrisource.
It's an affordable, grain free food that looks pretty good.
    Small, family owned company.
    Might be a reasonable alternative.

I was thinking of going to Canidae, only to find it on the list...

Only Canidae sold for the East Coast is recalled.

I know it is the east coast. Same with TOTW and Diamond....but....it does not make a dog owner feel very confident in feeding it anywhere. I just keep wondering what next? How do we know they won't have a recall here next. It is not a reassuring feeling at all!

I totally agree/understand. However we've been feeding our working dogs Canidae for about 4 years now and the dogs are in TOP condition.

Also, it should be a reminder to all of us to wash our hands after feeding our dogs. Food contamination can easily be passed to humans this way.

We feed TOTW. Sophie has done so well on it. I just have no idea what to do about food with all this recalling going on. Everyday another brand is added.

I feed Canidae and all my dogs- all ages - do very well on it. The recall on their part was voluntary with no reported cases of salmonella. I am going to stick with it especially as Canidae is building their own plant.

Thx's, they sell this at the same feed store I buy Sammi's TOTW. I'll check it out tomorrow.

We just got our first bag of Nutrisource and the hounds seem to love it. It was only $1 more than the TOTW and they have a frequent buyer's program, so that's another bonus. My dogs have done very well on the Diamond products over the years, especially TOTW, but this whole recall thing has me a little nerved, so I decided to switch. We'll see how they do....today is day #1 so the food is mixed with what was left of the TOTW.

Mom to Indy 6/12/98 to 11/16/11 (always in my heart), and Jobe 8-14-2000 to 6/24/2013 (Working TDI) English Labs, and Annie our Golden Retriever (TDI), and Kodiak (who will one day hopefully be a TDI dog if he doesn't kill me first).
