    DefaultBack from the vets....

I took Newton in to have our vets read his Xrays. I had what I thought of a clear picture in my head of what the future held. I wasn't expecting yet another Bomb to drop. This vet is recommending we go see yet another specialist. He is thinking that Newts Dysplasia is secondary. That his primary issue is Angular Limb Deformities. He wants us to continue with the weight loss (he is down to 90# right now). He said since there isn't any pain, he would recommend no medication at this time. He also mentioned that there is a possiblility that once he loses weight, this might improve his hips some. Yet do to what he thought was a deformity, he will never be able to walk right, and the chances of this getting worse (dysplasia), aren't in his favor.

So this is where we are now.

I'm sorry he's having such troubles. He's such a young dog. I hope the weight loss prolongs his healthy years.

Everything I have read so far on the Angular Limb Deformity puts the problem back on me. Everything that I have read on it so far, Newton hasn't expierenced. So maybe he doesn't have this?? Sometimes I wonder why when I want something simple, the good man upstairs thinks I can handle so much more.

2 yrs ago I was looking for a dog to start showing. I was so excited when we got Newton. Here two years later, I am right back to where we started. Our first lab grew too tall...and now Newt. Just in a Woe is Me kind of mood at them moment.
