I went into the kitchen and Tessa folllowed. Then suddenly she ran across the kitchen, jumped and I heard a bit of a scramble and thought she has slipped on the wooden floors. Oh no.
She came out from behind the table walking ok so thought phew she is ok. Then I noticed something sticking from the corners of her mouth. Looks like feathers. What has she got? The feathers moved. She crunched. Tessa drop..drop. She went to her bed and dropped a poor wee bird on it. It died shortly after.
I am not good with that kind of thing and all the eeewws eewws had Erns coming to see what was going on. Then he wanted it, Tessa wanted it back, I was eeewww, until I managed to get it outside. Neighbours probably wondered what was going on with all the barking, leaves, and ewww.. lol

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
LOL! That's pretty gross...but I'm still impressed by her speed!
RIP little birdie.
*snickering* but not so *snickering*
This scene would be performed by Hope, my cat.
Hope is kinder on her birds, however, than she is on her snakes. She is ruthless with snakes.

Sorry but had to laugh. My friend has a GSD(which is Bentleys partner in crime) and I was playing fetch with him and all of a sudden he went running across the yard and caught a bird and dropped it in his water bow,EW!!! My friend yelled for her dad and he had to get it out, lol.
~It doesn't matter how smart the dog is,it matters how smart the owner is.
I wonder how she managed to catch it? Well...at least you had some excitement for the day!

But Chris......Tess was just "saving" you and Erns!!! But I agree - the ewwwweee on the "crunch"!
Be grateful that's all she did. One of my Shih-Tzu's once brought a bird inside & dissected it on my bed. I can only hope the poor bird was already dead when he got it.
I have no idea how it got in. I am amazed she was quick enough to get it.
Garth Erns bought in 2 dead birds and destuffed them all over the lounge, then left the beaks and one head on the coffee table.
