Today I have noticed on her new bed some (big) spots in different areas of the bed. The fabric is kinda hard, not soft like it used to be. When you touch it the texture is roughly.
    that's a beautiful bed!
about the spots...I also think she's licking it. When Zoe licks her pillow, it gets stiff. Something about their saliva.

Good luck with he bed. I purchased Gus' bed from a local Orvis store and tonight I returned it. I chose to get a refund rather than a replacement.
They were extremely nice about it and refunded my money. I was shocked that he did so much damage so quickly. When he gets older, he is now 4 months old, I will purchase him another Orvis bed but for now it nothing in his crate....he even rips up the towel I put in there and I don't want him to eat this stuff.

Poor Gus, I wonder if he will realize when he is laying on the hard bottom that he chewed himself out of a good night sleep. Haha...... I totally get it.

Last night I decided to go to the movies.. I haven't been out for some time now. When I got back home I faced the below scene..

I pray to God she didn't swallow any piece of sponge.

I removed the bed last night and she slept on the hard bottom of the crate.. I hope she realized what she did!

I am sorry about your bed. I kind of figured it would be destroyed. I have yet to find a toy or bed that Sophie can't destroy. It took her awhile, but she finally chewed her Kong till it had cracks and chunks coming out. I had my fingers crossed for you, but I am not surprized. These Labbys love to chew! I see you have a round dough nut toy made out of a tennis ball type stuff in her crate. I bought Sophie one and it was destroyed in under 5 minutes! It cost me $8.99! So now, we go to yard sales. I bought her an old football and she loves the thing, totes it around all the time. She has already torn the outside leather (pig skin) off and gnaws on it. She also has an old basketball. Doggie toys don't seem to work out for her.

Dylan had a single layer mat in the bottom of his crate as a pup - no rubber backing or anything like that ! You could try cardboard until she can be trusted ?

Good news! Orvis will replace the bed free of charge! And if she chew it again they will refund me. What a great customer support from Orvis!!

I am glad they will replace it! The new one will probably go the way of the first one. The only thing I would suggest it to only use the bed when you are home and can supervise her. She gets bored in her crate when you're gone and chews what's available.

Yes, I thought of that too. I will put the new bed only at nights when she sleeps - she sleeps in my bedroom, so I can watch her - and times that I can supervise her. When I'm out I will remove it. Hopefully she will appreciate the bed and won't chew it.

    Thanx.
