    DefaultFew pics from this morning

Jim was finishing up the mowing he started yesterday when he discovered a patch of yellow "toothcup" sprouting up in the lawn. He called me to bring both dawgs out for a pic. I drove out in the golf cart and before arriving where Jim was working, I spotted a pair of Mandarin ducks in our pond. Pretty sure that they are the pair that's nesting here this year although several more do stop to visit us each day and have a free corn fill-up. They are both attractive but the male is spectacular. The hen is a little spookier of the two and she was just lifting off as I snapped the shot.

Then we took a few dawg pics in what will be the last spring wildflowers for the year here.

Jim calls the Oak stump in the last image his "tear-jerker stump" because it was a favorite spot of Cappy's and we see it every day we go in and out the driveway or when doing chores around the property. Jim says that he "sees" Cappy all around the property but especially on or near that stump.

Those were taken in May of 2008. Cappy lived for almost four more years, two of them were while he was still in good health and very active. Cappy loved life and really had a very happy one with us during his 13 years here. It's getting a little easier for us each day without him but there's still tough times like Jim had at the Dentist's office yesterday when the dentist and receptionist (facebook friends) greeted Jim with hugs and tears ... and that's all it took!

Great pics!! The male Mandarin duck is spectacular (I looked at the pics before reading what you wrote, and I thought it was a decoy).

Very cool pictures, especially the Mandarin Duck.

Love the photos of you with Cappy. No surprise that Jim is seeing Cappy around the property, he loved both of you & his home.

Carole, It would be awesome if you could preserve the stump someway and honor it as Cappy's Place. Make it a memorial garden area.

Just a thought and love seeing pictures of the dawgs, especially Cappy!!!

    Thanks for sharing

Love the last picture of Jim with the 2 dawgs. Remi reminds me so much of my Nellie.
