DefaultSurgery is complete - onwards to recovery

Woohoo! The head of surgery just called and told me that Jenica's surgery is complete and she is now in their recovery room waking up.

Her ligament was fully torn, as expected, but her meniscus was fine which is great news.

Based on the condition of the joint (minor signs of arthritis) he believes that she had a partial tear for probably around eight weeks and when she did her chase after the squirrel it tore fully.

He was very pleased with how the surgery went and at this point he thinks she will mostly likely come home on Friday. They will keep me updated on her recovery process.

To clear her for surgery she had to be first checked out by a neurologist because of her recent neck surgery and they found that she is still showing some slight neurological deficits from her pinched nerve in her neck, but that seems to be not too unusual and should get better over the next few weeks. The plan is that the neurologist that treated her will take a look at this when Jenica has to come back for her first TPLO surgery follow up appointment in about two weeks.

    Thursday morning update:

Jenica is recovering well. There is some swelling in her knee, but that seems to be normal. She is eating and peeing, which are all good signs. At this point they are planning to release her tomorrow early afternoon, but that will be confirmed tomorrow morning.
