You may remember that Jenica went through disc surgery a few weeks ago. Well, the recovery was just completed when she decided that it would be fun to chase after a squirrel. Which caused her cruciate ligament in her left knee to tear.
It happened over the weekend and we brought her into the vet's office this morning, where two vets took a look at her and agreed that it is a full tear. They also took x-rays as the surgeon would like those to be taken by the office to have them available for the consult. The x-rays confirmed the suspicion. At least her hips looked good on the x-rays.
Tomorrow morning she will have the consult at her favourite hospital - her last two surgeries were there as well, and then she will have surgery either tomorrow or Wednesday.
Hopefully the surgery will go smoothly and this will be the last surgery for a little while. We would appreciate good thoughts that everything goes well.
Everyone at the vet's office was great. Jenica was carried wherever she needed to go and when the vet that originally treated her for the disc issue saw that she got carried in, she immediately took a quick look at her, even though her surgery patient was getting prepped, and the vet that was treating Jenica today was already waiting for her.
Awww... Jenica.. what were you thinking..? Poor girl. Hope her recovery is easy.
