DefaultWork First, Then we Can Play

Dad said we have to finish planting our small flower garden, pick up all the weeds and debris, feed the ducks, take the garbage out .... then we can play frisbee fetching. Yippeeee.

Cappy use to love to watch us with our after-training "happy frisbees" ... he even got a couple of his own each time. Gosh we miss him.

I can just imagine that he leaves a huge hole in your house and your heart.

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for much, but bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.

Truthfully, they don't seem to recognize that Cappy is "gone", which somewhat surprises and disappoints me. Never, for a single day of their respective lives, have either been without Cappy since each joined our family. However, they have each other and they are quite close.

I have Cappy's collar on a night stand next to my side of the bed. All three of us hit the sack together every night without fail. Suppose maybe it's because they get a "good night animal cracker" from me as part of the ritual? When we all lay down, I reach over and pick up Cappy's collar. It's distinctive tags jingling sound gets both dawgs instantly on their feet. They each sniff the collar and Remi will sort of sigh and then lay back down. I've tried reading more into that than I probably should.

Debi ... that "strip" you see in the picture is actually an overflow channel from the ponds above the house that runs down to the pond behind our home. Water will only run through it when we get so much rain that the upper ponds overflow their bank. Look at the red lines from the upper two ponds that runs down under the drive (two 24" culverts) to another channel and then into the main pond. When it over-fills, it runs out though an 8" diameter pipe to the ponds to the left in the pic. The three over there are all inter-connected. When complately full, they discharge to the ditch along side the highway which in turn flows all the way 6 miles North to the Red River. That's the TX - OK border.

I enjoyed the pictures. Nice landscape. I know it is hard. I do hope all those good memories bring you comfort.
