just read this last week. interesting and good for folks with puppies.
Good read - thanks!
Its interesting but doesn´t seem to be conclusive on anything... avoiding steps? I read somewhere that it´s very important to provide a non-skidding surface for the puppies, but that is not mentioned here.
Interesting indeed. Rider and I participated in the study here in the states that is ongoing right now. I can't wait to see the results of that.

thanks for posting !
That was interesting.
Interesting Laura. I participated in online one ages ago. I have always believed environement plays a huge part.
I have 2 from the same litter who until the age of 3 were bought up in different homes, so convinced environment plays a huge part if their joints and behaviour.
From the day we got Kass home she used a ramp instead of the steps. I walked her daily and was very careful with her joints I had read Labs could have problems so read up on it. She had no joint problems.
Erns was bought up in a home with indoor and outdoor steps. He was walked a lot some days and none others. His owners had no idea what HD was. His hips and knees were a mess when I got him at 3.5.
I am sure breeding played a part too and often wonder if I had Erns and they had Kass would it have been different.?? How much is environment and breeders bad luck.
