Jenica was released out of the hospital on Friday evening as she was doing really well considering the extent of the surgery. It will be a very slow process (about 4 to 6 weeks) until she is recovered fully, and then she will still have to regain all muscle mass that she has lost. Currently we have to support her whenever she is standing and especially when she is trying to walk up and down steps and on uneven ground. She is constantly in her harness, and she will most likely never be able to go back to a standard collar.
However, she is a great patient, taking all her medication without hassle and she is resting a lot, which should help with the inflamed nerve and her general recovery. When we can't watch her she has to be in her crate.
Here is our little patient:
And one of Diesel, as he is such a great brother and really good around Jenica:
Sweet Jenica... I'm glad she is being a good patient Hope she'll feel better and better every day!
Poor girl. I hope she has a speedy recovery. I swear the other dog/s know they need looking after. Bear is acting the same way towards Buzz.
Holy crap, that is quite an incision! Good thoughts that she heals quickly.

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for much, but bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
Poor girl...good thoughts for her and I glad she has a great brother to love her
Sweet Jenica! Wishing her a problem free recovery.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am
