DefaultNLR -- Ad in the paper

The other day my hubby and I were looking in the classifieds (as we often do) and we came across this ad:

"I have a female husky with no papers, and I would like to breed her with a male husky, as I would like to have puppies."
REALLY? You have a female and want to breed her to a male?! To have puppies!?!?! I'm shocked. Truly. Who knew someone would need to breed a male to a female?

On another note, I hope no one responds.

there's a lot of that on those types of listings. They may bad with "beautiful" or "handsome" but ultimately - the above is what the message is. Lots of people want to breed their dog. Lots of people don't "get" (even those who know me and how much I do for rescue and fosters) the entire "paying a lot for a dog" cuz "their dog will live a great life and they will do well by it" and "it's already born so why not" and "well I get all my dogs like this and they are all healthy and great".

LOL!! It's especially funny because he/she probably had to pay per character for the newspaper ad, hahaha! Stupid.

I think for a lot of people who are economically strapped they see this as an easy buck. Are there that many people lining up for BYB Husky puppies that can't be registered?

people think "purebred" means something. i find it annoying.

as for husky's - there are tons in my area. tons. and these are not easy dogs - they are high energy and need training.

Exactly! My dh and I laughed about the stupidity of the ad for quite awhile.

I don't know how many people are lining up for Huskies. I'd never own one. Too much fur. LOL

I'd say not many people after two babies were killed recently by huskies!

Why don't you phone her up and try to talk some sense to her. Maybe she is really just oblivious.
