    DefaultGracie update

Gracies scratching problem from last week is her ears. After 2 sleepless nights I took her to the vet. Her ear flaps were swollen and she was not a happy camper. There was no infection but yeast. Vet thinks it is allergies. So a round of steroids for itching and swelling and a change in her food. I am in the process of changing her food to Pro Plan salmon and rice. Keep your fingers crossed this is the problem. .

We had the same problem with Sophie. Our vet wanted her off grains entirely. She had repeated ear infections. We went to TOTW Pacific Stream which is also salmon based but has no grain. She hasn't had an ear infection since the change over, and she quit itching and her hair grew back that she had lost. We could see a bumpy rash on her inner thighs and felt scabs on her body where she had dug herself up. What food were you feeding before?

She was on Eukanuba large breed. It was what her breeder recommend. Tomorrow will be her first day on just the new food. Up until today I had been mixing it to avoid tummy upset. She has quit rubbing her head but that might be the steroids and ear drops working. Tomorrow last of the steroids and total change to new food. so we'll see how it goes.
