I've signed Abbey up for an advanced obedience/rally class that starts in a couple weeks, so I will likely do some AKC/UKC rally trials with her. Kolby will do his therapy dog thing, visiting hospitals and nursing homes. Both of them will do their dock diving per usual, which I am particularly excited about as we are trying to get the Great Lakes DockDogs group back up and running! And I think we will try weight pull with Abbey and the Huskies this year.
Sounds like fun! Good luck

I would love to get Baxter dock-jumping, but so far he shows no interest - he runs back down the dock and goes in from the shore - he also doesn't do the "lab jump" at the shore either - Emilu was a natural at it, but not Baxter - I'll work on him some more this summer and see if we can get it going. I'm excited about this year too - Baxter is in back to back Rally Novice and Advanced Obedience classes for the next 8 weeks and is doing very well. What part of Michigan do you live in? My parents live in Fremont, Ohio - not far from Michigan - maybe I can take Baxter to a dock-jumping event up by you guys if you get your club going agina - that would be fun!
Pat - it took Abbey until her third summer to really start swimming. And then it took her a few months to be comfortable with dock diving. She did the same thing Baxter did, running back to shore.
I know Ultimate Air Dogs has events in Toledo a couple times a year. I'll let you know when we get any events in Michigan up and running for DockDogs.
Sounds like a fun year.
That is gonna be a fun filled year!!
Sounds like a wonderful time for the dogs and you! Looking forward to pictures.
