I bet Colin's dogs could get into that!

We have a garbage can under the kitchen sink, and the dogs have never attempted to get in there. And no problems with curtains either. When my dogs were young puppies, they were never left unattended for more than a few seconds (and they were always crated at night and when we went out). If they don't have a chance to get in trouble, they won't!! Best advice I can give is a tired dog is a good dog, can't be naughty while sleeping!!

The simplest garbage solution is an under counter mounted waste bin. It easily mounts to the cabinet and swings out when you open the cabinet door.

These things are available almost everywhere:

Knape & Vogt | Trash Master Waste Bin | Home Depot Canada

Bean USED to know that trash is off-limits, but has recently started digging around in it again. It is possible to teach them to leave it, but one snack from the can and it's back to square one.

"MIGHT" get in the trash! hahahahaha!!! Labbies are so smart! They can manage to get into most trash cans. We move ours, in when she's out and out when she's in.

I may have to try this one.

Foot pedals are useless for Rocky unless the garage is HUGE. I had one of those (and it wasn't a tiny thing) and he just brought the ENTIRE garbage onto the couch. Once on it's side it was easy to get the top open and poor the contents onto the couch.
