My dear, sweet, wonderful, insanely obedient Mya..... that I do NOT deserve!!!!
Tonight I gave her her humble 1/2 cup serving of food, as always right as we sit down to eat. I was talking to Steve as I dropped her kibble into her food dish and forgot to say "okay". (She has to make eye contact with me then I tell her okay and she eats.) Since Steve and I were talking, I TOTALLY spaced her off. I skipped supper and got on the computer to check the weather for our trip to AZ. He was eating. He got all done eating and went to take his dishes to the sink and looked down and she was just staring at her food bowl. He asked "Did you tell Mya she could eat?" I felt just horrible!!!!!!! He said while he was eating she kept coming to him, looking at him and walking back into the kitchen (her bowl) repeatedly, hoping he would follow her and realize the situation.
I am almost scared to get another lab someday.....I am going to pay for her goodness somewhere along the line!!
I think she deserves another cup of food! You have one very well behaved dog! Good girl Mya!
~It doesn't matter how smart the dog is,it matters how smart the owner is.
Aw! Good girl Mya!
What a good girl. Hope she got an extra treat tonight.
Steve and I were practically falling over each other to get her a treat! LOL!!
I hear ya Sharon! Sophie eats about 1 1/2 cups at a feeding, and often I put green beans and other veggies in with it. She doesn't usually get into her bag of kibble, but will move Heaven and Earth to get to the bag of cat food! We have now taken to hiding it inside our barbecue!

Sometimes the hardest part isn't letting go - but learning to start over.
She has been taught well. She is a good girl and I love her. I can send Erns over if you would like to know what it is like to have a busy boy. lol
He is good with food though and will only take food if I say Ok eat. Except if it is on the counter.
Aw, poor Mya!!
I did something similar once....Java was acting like a nut, so I put her in a sit-stay in the kitchen next to the fridge for a few minutes.
And I forgot she was there.
45 minutes later I walked in the kitchen and she was still sitting where I had left her.
I released her.
She walked into the family room and squatted and peed on her dog bed right in front of me.
Apparently she was a little pissed at me.
