    DefaultPhoto of Tessas neck.

Photo I said I would post from Tessa allergy thread. Her neck is of her allergies. I thought it was food, but has been flaring up so think it is environmental.

It doesn't look that great, but compared to when I got her it was very red and the baldness went up to her bottom lip and about 3 inches lower than it is now.
As soon as I see it like this I treat it, before it goes red all over, then within 24 hours she has little blister like things on it and she starts to scratch it.

Vets are pleased she is growing fur and if I can get fur on her neck this will stop. Seems to be 2 forward and 1 back each day or week depending on how it is. At the moment it is a daily check.

It is cute to see the little tufts of fur growing.

ETA. Here is one of her front on. You can see the tufts growing.
Here they are begging and giving me the how can you eat all that food. Erns had the I am a good boy. I didn't eat the decorations look.

Thank you. I think they are cute, but this was follow from my allergy thread. Her neck is part of her allergies and it is getting better, but if I am not very careful will go back to what it was.

    Has me stumped.

Could it be an allergy to dust? I know people have allergies to it and I didn;t know about dogs.

One of the things we are thinking. I wash her cotton bed each day. I tried to keep her on the wood floors, but it isn't making enough difference to do it long term.
It is very expensive doing the allergy testing here and she needs to go to the vet hospital 3 hours away so trying to explore all possibilities before that.
Vet says in Janurary we will change her food and see what happens so we can rule out food. He thinks not food, I think yes.

I am sure it is grass or other outside thing, but no doubt a huge list of things we will never be able to control.
I have had her 6 months so not enough to go through all the seasons to see if it stops.

There are machines that help keep pollen and dust under control inside the home, Takes the water, pollen, dust, and odours (!) out of your air... - Amcor DC930 Dehumidifier - Epinions.com
It wouldn't help when going outside, but it might help indoors. Poor Tessa! Can dogs take Claritin? My son has bad allergies and was on Claritin for years till Allegra came out. Claritin is cheap. I think I would ask the vet if Tessa can try it.

She sure looks so much better since she has been in your care. She is a sweetheart. Great pic of your two cuties.

Maybe you could try a hypo allergenic laundry soap or fabric softner if you haven't yet. Could be something as simple as that too..?
