DefaultHas anyone tried this product out??

I was telling my wife I wanted to build Penny a steel cot for the backyard and maybe put a pillow mattress on top so she is elevated off the ground a few inches when she is on it. She went online and found the exact thing I wanted to build but in a "chew-proof" PVC version.

Anyone have this? If so, how do you like it? I'm seriously considering one...check it out!

I don't think puppies will stay on it for very long. All they want to do is play. But that's just my thinking. Zoe had opportunties to go on something like that but refused.

I'm actually thinking long term...when she is a bit bigger. Right now she has the attention span all of 2 seconds and can't figure out which direction she wants to run off to!

I've heard that they are really good and pretty sure there are people/dogs on here that have them. Kuranda has their own website too....try Kuranda.com.

    LOL!

Hope you get input from people who have the cot.

Why do you need it for the backyard? When Sophie is outside, all she does is run like a bullet and play, play, play....no time for resting and sleeping!

I have the Coolaroo - similar idea. It took a while before Koivu would use it, but now he loves it.

There are those days we will be bbq'ing in the yard or eating dinner on the patio, I could see it coming in handy during prolonged periods in the yard.

Depends on the dog, some like them some don't. I do have one that I put in the xpen with the puppies when I have them outside and they seem to enjoy it...

I have something similar for Erns a cheaper version for Tessa. I put them outside in the summer, but bring them back in at night.
Reason I do it is to keep Erns off the hard ground with his hips.
As someone said they do spend more time running around, but mine are outside if I am not here so think it is nicer for them to sleep on.
Gems would get up in the morning and straight outside to sleep on hers for the day.
I think I would get one for my next pup as well after having Erns with joint issues. I am not sure spending too much time on the hard ground is good for them and if they use it great. If not can't make them.

ETA. Dogs don't get joint issues sleeping outside...me being paranoid with ERns so don't want it again.
