My beautiful mother has passed away and my heart is broken.
My mother went to the hospital on December 4th, suffering from congestive heart failure. She fought a battle with this for nearly 3 weeks. There were a couple of times she got better and we thought she was going to come back home but on Friday, December 23rd at 11:15 pm she passed away and this Christmas she spent with Jesus in heaven. She was our rock, the core of our family. The one we all turned to and loved deeply. I do not know how I will live without her. It will certainly change my live and the lives of our family forever. My mother leaves behind 3 daughters, 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great granchildren. We will all miss her deeply.
This is what my son wrote to about his grandmother:
My grandmother was born in 1919. She married an amazing man who was taken from her too soon. They had three wonderful daughters, who in turn raised a bunch of grandkids, who in turn raised a whole bunch of great grandkids, some of whom are raising great-great-grandkids. She was the leader of our family, our rock during hard times, and our constant companion. For the vast majority of those 92 years she was healthy and independent. She knew what she liked and wanted and didn't beat around the bush. She was a woman of faith, confidence, and decision. Kind a loving, she would do anything for you, and she'd tell you when you were being stupid. She liked coffee and yahtzee, cooking and yard work, and for a long time she dipped her snuff, thank you very much. For Christmas, she just wanted "something pretty". She was always surrounded by love. She lived a deeply rich life. For the last three weeks she patiently accepted all the attention and help we gave her. Twenty four hours a day for almost three weeks her family sat by her side. We didn't leave her alone once. We told old stories, held her hand, read and sang, fixed her hair, and told her we loved her. She told us she loved us too. Ultimately her body could not hang on anymore, and last night the Lord called her home. Jenny gently handed her over to Jesus, and she's strolling around Heaven with my Grandpa right now. He's showing her all the best spots. She leaves behind a huge hole, but this family will fill it with love and support. I love you Grandma! Rest in peace, and we’ll meet again someday.
