    DefaultLost Lab

A black Lab turned up on our cul de sac today. I knew he didn't belong to any one on our street. He was a sweetie, and we put him in our fenced backyard, and started the labby-find-his-home investigation! He had no name tag or micrc chip tag, but he was wearing his rabies tag, so we called the local county office where they register the tags. We got the owner's name and phone number and street address. We found out his name is Bo and he's 2. But, you won't believe this, when we called the owner to tell her we had Bo, she tells us that she can't come pick him up because she is busy paying her insurance! We had one of the neighborhood kids walk him home about 3 or 4 blocks away. We put one of Sophie's leashes on him, and well....I guess we must have donated the leash since the woman didn't send it back. Grumble! I guess it takes all kinds, but if my girl was missing, not only would I have been in a panic, I would have walked over hot coals to get her back! People! They can sure suprize me sometimes!

I would march over there get my leash back and then give her a piece of my mind. When Tank was missing I was out with a very, very bad sun burn putting up fliers, calling everybody I could think of(local farmers, family members ect..) Hope Bo does not get out again and he stays safe.

It does make one wonder. How about "I am paying my insurance right this minute, is it possible for you to keep him for a short time until I can get there" - that is if she was actually somewhere paying her insurance and not doing it on line. I would be absolutely frantic and nothing would be keeping me from finding my girls.

We got a phone call from the lady again this evening. She said Bo got out again. I sure hope the sweet boy is ok. I don't know the lady, but it seems like she needs to do better caring for Bo to me....

I wouldn't be surprised if Bo showed up at your place again.

I would offer to take Bo off her hands since she obviously has trouble keeping up with him

Same here. If I could I would "foster" Bo until he could be found a new home. Hope he is safe.

That's what I'm thinking. Hoping, actually. He doesn't seem to be much cared for where he lives!
