Labs, like people can be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as soon as they wake up in the morning, or they can walk around dazed and droopy-eyed until totally awake. When we come in from first AM potty time, I stumble to the coffee maker, Mitzi, Bruno, and Duke hit the nearest doggy bed for a morning nap, and Judy goes to the toy box. As soon as I sit down, the toy she picked out is being pushed into me as she encourages me to play with her. If I don't play, she nudges with her nose. She won't be ignored.
Haha, thankfully like me, all my furkids are NOT morning pups. HOWEVER, my two boys are a completely different story. Oh how I miss sleeping until 8 or 9...that never happens anymore. The dogs look at me like I'm completely nuts for being awake at the hour I am.
Abbey is a morning lab, Willy is not. He takes a few hours to come around. Abbey is ready to go as soon as her feet hit the floor.
Yes and he is teaching Tessa how to be a get up and go girl.
He wakes at 5- 5.30 and immediately it is all on. If I am lucky he will listen and go back to sleep for half an hour. If I went back to bed he would come and sleep on the bed with me for a little while.
Yes and the other one is older and wants to sleep in
For the most part, we let Sophie out to potty at about 5:30 and she goes back to bed. Every once in awhile so goes into crack-dog mode and terrorizes the house...mama is not happy on those days! Usually after about an hour she'll go back to bed, but in the mean time I've had to take numerous no-no's away from her, kept her from eating our throw rugs, made her stop counter surfing etc. Today she managed to get the ketchup my son forgot and left down! Mess....yep!
Sophie DOB 04/13/2011 6 mo

Libby is most definitely a morning lab! She is up rearing to go by 6am. Like Judy, she is bombarding me to throw toys for her while im attempting to drink my coffee!

Ah yes, that would be Moka.
She is up at 4 am every morning, raring to go. It doesn't matter what time she goes to bed, she is always wide awake at 4 am....and she's not ready for a nap until around 11.
Java would sleep in if Moka wasn't up bugging the crap out of her.
Tank and Mae are morning labs! They can get up at 3A.M. and want to go,go,go.. It is a struggle to get BEntley to wake up stretch then go down stairs for potty break and breakfast. Then we take a nap for 3 hrs. Then we are both ready to go. The otehr 2 were awke the whole time while we were napping. Thankfully my brothers adn sisters are morning people and keep Tank and Mae intertained for me!
~It doesn't matter how smart the dog is,it matters how smart the owner is.
The earlier the better for Manny!
