My smarty little boy!
If nobody's available to play fetch. It doesn't bother him at all. He can fend for himself.
Over the weekend, Claire was on the treadmill. Parker brought her his favorite ball. But being busy, she couldn't toss it for him. He looked up happily, wagged that unstoppable tail of his, pranced around a bit, put the ball down, play-bowed, picked it up again, wag, prance, yip, lather, rinse, repeat.
Claire couldn't stop to play.
So Parker figured this out on his own: He dropped the ball on the treadmill mat, which was looping around at fairly quick clip.
The ball scooted behind Claire and rolled a fair distance away.
He spent the next 15 minutes plopping the ball on the moving treadmill, watching it zoom away, racing to get it, and returning to the treadmill!
Oh, those Kelrobins. Gotta watch 'em. Next thing I expect is that if lunch is late, he'll figure out how to open his kibble container and pour his own meal!!
