The first time Tootsie yelped and cried and held up her paw I was concerned. We were at the dog park, she trotted over to greet the people, and nobody was paying any attention to her. There were other dogs next to her, nobody saw any bad behavior. But once she yelped she was the center of attention. Within minutes she was miraculously healed and jumped the fence, ran and walked with no limp.
The very next day we were back at the park. The lady who gave her the most attention on previous days was on her cell phone, All the other people and dogs were else where in the park. Tootsie screamed, cried and whimpered and the lady paid attention to her and the pain dissipated in short order. She does not do this at the house. We suspected this is the little Labby who cried wolf. That was Thursday.
Friday Toots went to the vet for a follow up on her ears. Ears are looking much better. Vet checked her legs and diagnosed Tootsie is a diva vying for attention. Nothing wrong with the joints or feet.
This afternoon we were back at the dog park. She got plenty of attention for a while. Then most of the people left. A new dog came into the park and everybody was watching the new dog run circles around Buddy and George. George's mom and I were watching the dogs run. Tootsie was sitting next to George's mom when I happened to glance over at Tootsie. She was slightly hunched over and looked like she was sulking. Then she let out a scream raised her paw, whimpered and cried. George's mom started stroking her and asked her if she was just wanting attention and moved away from her, and Tootsie stopped whimpering, wagged her tail, put her foot down and started walking on the "hurt" foot to get the attention. No limp. In Tootsie's world, she don't orbit. Everybody else does.
I am sure there is a Broadway show tune about girls like Toots, but so far I can't think of it. My first thought is "Diamonds are a girl's best friend", but Toots like the attention not rocks.
So where's the video? We NEED video!
LOL! Nnow that's a story! LOL!
I think Tootsie needs one of these, Andy.
this saga is hilarious.

She's a Class act Andy.
Tootsie is a drama diva! If the girl doesn't get enough attention, she'll create drama to draw it. Smart girl, that Tootsie!
Jackie, Champ, and Buddy
hahaha! She sure sounds like a clever little diva
You're a theater kinda guy, Andy. You and Wife might consider giving Diva Toots a full-run contract. Hmmm?
