    Defaultgood news!

It's just an infected (not impacted) anal gland. Thank You, God! No conehead, either. I was worried about that, too, because Buddy LOVES his crate and a cone would have made it very hard, if not impossible, for him to go in his.

My little man is on Rimadyl for pain and an antibiotic to clear up the infection, we go back in 2 weeks for a re-check. He was a very good boy, let them examine him without a fuss. All the time I spent making him let me just look, with a treat in front of his nose, paid off.

The vet said that it's possible it may open up and drain (ugly thought!), but he's hoping the antibiotics will clear it up before that happens. If Buddy licks it too much, we'll put on a pair of boxer briefs. He's not doing it incessantly, and stops when we tell him to, so we may be okay.

    *big sigh of relief*
    Jackie, Champ, and Buddy

Yay! Glad to hear it's nothing major. Hopefully it'll be gone in no time.
