    Defaultchewing on leg

Hamilton chews on a spot on his leg, I've looked and do not see anything in the area. He is on flea and tick prevention and was groomed recently (the biting started before the grooming). Should I be concerned, he does not seem to be in any discomfort but once or twice a day I will find him chewing at that one spot.

I would suspect an allergy of some sort. Food, fleas and environmental things are the most typical triggers

Sophie chewed her legs before we put her on a grain free diet.

So how do I determine if it is an allergy? Hamilton is currently eating Blue Lamb formula for adult dogs, so far the only thing he is not able to digest is chicken.

Coult he have an allergy to the shampoo the groomers used.

Tessa has food and environmental allergies. Some nights she will chew her leg for ages until I wash it with a medicated shampoo. It seems to help her.

When we put Sophie on grain free, our vets told us to chose a protein she hadn't had before. We chose TOTW Pacific Stream because she hadn't had salmon or fish. The vet said chicken and grains are often the culprit. We first put sophie on lamb and rice and she got worse. Since we changed her to Pacific Stream, the difference is amazing! Within a week we started noticing she wasn't scratching as much. She seemed more energetic, we hadn't thought she lacked energy, but the new food did make a difference. She was going bald in patches and had chewed her hair off her legs too. Now, her coat is beautiful and she no longer itches and chews. When she steals from the trash, she will scratch a couple days sometimes. She stole bread and itched, crackers and itched....she's a good thief! Quick and sneaky. Counter surfs and steals stuff.... yep she can be a brat!
