Von Hausmans Baxter B of Pioneer Trail,CGC
Baxter took his CGC test today, at the place that we had been taking classes for the past 8 weeks. He wasn't in this class of dogs however, so there were a dozen new ,nervous dogs there for him to "get used to". He was is usual Baxter self - thinking all dogs want to meet and greet and play, or for those that stared a little too long -to start barking at. We had to sit on bleachers, very close to all the other dogs, and I spent my time trying to get him to just BE STILL! During the actual test sections, he was beautiful! He only had trouble at one station, where the evaluator was a gal in our class, who from some reason he loves to jump up on. Luckily, she likes Baxter, and didn't mind his exuberance. (it was the sit for petting, grooming and heeling) He wasn't heeling too well, until I remembered to put my arm in the "right place" and say "heel", then he was fine. For a dog that I never really "trained" for the CGC items, he did really well - hopefully the first of many successful "tests".
After passing our test:
Congratulations, Pat, to you and Baxter. I like how he is focused on you in the first picture.
I like the focus too - I have a picture of Emilu when she got her CGC and she looked exactly the same way at me. I had the gal taking the picture make some funny noises for the other picture so he would look at the camera too - wanted to get both kinds of shots. The first one lets me know what he looks like when he is "watching me".
Congrats! I love the look on his face in the first picture.
