Wesley was also an April baby, born on Tax Day (04.15.00). So he knew nothing of snow until it fell his first winter, which probably had him at 8-9 months old.
He had a gigantic problem w/it: He didn't know he could poop on it.
Now a couple of things you need to know about this situation is that Wesley was very particular about his 'spots.' He didn't just squat at the first opportunity. Nor did he seek out the same place to leave his daily gifts. No, Wesley had to investigate, to sniff, to audition where to make his deposits. This involved walking --- a lot of it --- as he considered several sites and their pros and cons before finding one to be blessed.
So that first winter, when the world was all white, he was totally confused.
"Where's the grass, Dad?"
"Um, it's covered up, Bud. But it's okay. Go ahead a do what you need to do..."
"No. But. Um. WHERE'S THE GRASS, DAD?"
"Wes. You're not going to see grass around here 'til March or April. I suggest you..."
There was none to be had. Wesley literally constipated himself for 4-5 days, looking for his oasis. When he could finally delay the inevitable no longer, he literally climbed to the top of a gigantic snowpack, born of a plow that had cleared a diner's parking lot near our house, and let it fly. It was a maginificent piece of artistry, and I'm sure Wesley chose his lofty spot so that his handiwork could be admired for miles around.
Parker, on the other hand, had no compunction about going on the snow. He hit the lawn and let it fly.
Two totally different dogs.

Such a heartwarming Wes story.
"Each is a creature of Earth and is entitled to reside on it with dignity"
Ha ha!! Saba has the same issues as Wes did - except at the end of winter. He walks forever until he finds a little bit of left over snow and that's where #2 ends up.
