DefaultWe could really use some JL thoughts for Helo

On Monday, he went in for his neuter. He's still not home.

Apparently, sometimes with mature neuters, there can be a lot of swelling, which of course, happened to him. They put a drain in to help with it, and they kept him over night Monday, which I was cool with.

Tuesday I was told they wanted to keep him one more night, and I was okay with that because with the baby and all, I felt like he was better off there where if something did go wrong, he was at least being watched.

Yesterday he had to stay again.

This morning I called expecting to go get him today. Nope. He has to stay one more night.

Needless to say, I'm a bit stressed about him, and more than a little worried. While I'm glad partially to have waited until he was 18 months to get him neutered, now I also am a bit sorry I did. I really hope he's okay after this.

So if you can spare them, we could really use your healing thoughts.

Ouch...sending good thoughts and prayers to Helo and you. This is what scares me about having to wait but if it keeps their joints healthy in the long run it is worth it. I sure hope he will be home for you to cuddle with very soon, poor fella.

Oh, absolutely, Karina. I hope he's home soon. Have they told you anything? Is it getting better at least, but they still just want to keep an eye on it?

Good thoughts for Helo!! I hope he comes home soon!
Moka was just spayed in May, at 18 months old, after heat #2. I waited 2 months after she finished her heat, but the vet told me that she bled ALOT...excessively. Said she hadn't seen a dog bleed that much during a spay before.
Thankfully she was fine, but I was scared.

I had the same problem with Homer and his wounds got infected, it was awfully swollen and I couldn´t even see it. I totally regretted having him neutered, I´ve never been a fan of doing unnecesary surgeries but somehow convinced myself that neutering Homer was going to be easier than spaying Misha, and that fixing one of them would allow me to stop having to separate them whenever she is in heat.

He took about a month to heal. I honestly won´t do it again to any of my dogs unless its for medical reason.

    Hope he gets better soon.

Yeah, I'm sorry now , but I also have a contractual obligation to have him altered. I take that seriously too.

Melissa, supposedly he is doing okay, just he's still swollen and they've wanted to keep him draining. Part of me understands that, but more of me is scared for him today.
