DefaultUh oh he's a natural hunter.

I was watching TV earlier & caught a yellow streak out of the corner of my eye on the front patio. Seconds later, a certain dog (who shall remain nameless) comes running in to me wagging his tail & presents me with a baby dove. Poor thing was missing some wing & tail feathers which I found outside on the patio so no doubting who did it.

I took it off the fool, put it in a box & Googled the local wildlife rescue. I found a lady only about 10 minutes away & she came & took it away to nurse it back to health. Needless to say, I had to vacuum the carpet because it was covered in feathers.

Poor birdie! Anyone want a good hunting dog?

Did you put the wildlife rescue's number on speed dial?

    Get well soon baby dove.

Kacey killed another squirrel yesterday. Then before bed tried to go after a RACCOON. She's taking years off my life.

Toby had a great tailed grackle cornered up against a tree this weekend. The bird lost several feathers.

    A what?

Thankfully my Lexi is more food driven than prey driven. Sure she'll chase squirrels & stalk bunnies, but has not shown any interest in actually catching them. I suspect she would freak when it moved or made noises.

    My pretty girl, Lexi!
