UPDATE: The vet was very surprised to see how well she looked. However, the tumor is bigger, the leg looks like it has muscle tone now, and she has edema at the elbow now. This is very recent as I only noticed it last night. Fanny sat on the seat in the exam room so the tech had to sit on the floor in order to take a blood sample. We are going to continue as we are, meds only, and lots of love and kisses, because there really isn't goingt o be a miracle. She is enjoyuing life right now and that is what is important.
I am going to take her to the bark park once a week as long as she wants to go. I am hoping she lasts until Christmas, but probably won't, maybe I will be lucky and have until Thanksgiving which is also my brithday.
We have a checkup scheduled as their original diganosis of 3-6 months has passed and the only sign she gives of this bone cancer is she doesn't put her weight on the leg.
She went swimming at the bark park this weekend. We walked slowly from the lot to the pond while she sniffed and smiled and checked out every strand of grass she could. When she saw the water, she looked at me and I said go for it, in she went and swam around in circles with the biggest grin on her face I have seen in a long time. When she got out we sat in the sun for half an hour and then we went home.
Wish us luck!
