First of all, I know all the pheno pulsing through his body makes him behave like a hyper-active child. At times. When he is like that he can be (CAN be) totally out of control - totally non-compliant with commands he ordinarily will (finally) obey.
Tonight I told him to lay down. Uh-UH! No way, man... not in MY lifetime! MAKE me!
And so I did "make him". I took both his front legs, slud them forward while pressing down on his backside, and said, "LAY DOWN. ALL the way down."
Uh-UH! No way, man! Not...WAIT! What are ya doin here! EEEK! What are ya doin?!?
I got him down, he popped up 5 seconds later. I went through the routine again. This time he stayed.. with a look on his face:
"I can't believe this. I can't believe you did this to me. ME! Me who always gets my way. I can't frigging beLIEVE this!"
That boy stayed down until I released him. And when I released him? He still looked stunned that I would (could) overpower him.
Just for the record, I felt like a complete meanie doing that. Sort of.

He and Diesel are soulmates I think.
Although Diesel always cracks under pressure - he tries the tough guy independent "I don't hafta lissen to you today" 'tude with me and tries to ignore me, but if I use that Mom voice he slinks up to me, tongue flicking, head lowered, sits as close as he can get to me - - -"I was just kidding, Mom, you know that".
Sharon, Blaise and Diesel.
We have the same in our house. Diesel tries to test me all the time by giving 'tude & pretending he doesn't listen. I've pulled the paws down into a forced lay down & had to use the mom voice when I say "go to your house" & he stalls pretending he hasn't heard me. They're so funny!!!
Slud. Love that verb! Perfect description. =)

"Dear George: Remember, no man is a failure who has friends. Thanks for the wings. Love, Clarence" -- IAWL Screenplay (1946)
Such a descriptive story, I was laughing so hard! Even when they don't do as told they are still too darn cute!
Cute! She's the boss applesauce
He sounds like nauty little boy! LOL! I am sure he will get better!
Nance - this also makes me smile! The looks they can give! If we were that (facially) expressive, we'd not need so many 4 letter words in our language...
