DefaultPhoto of Duke watching the Wildlife Pond

For those of you here who don't frequent the O&E page, I installed a pond for the wildlife in the woods behind my house. I put out deer pellets and some kibble each night to help the area wildlife survive from the terrible drought we've had all summer. Then I set up a wildlife camera to record the visitors and now have created a web site so people can see the nightly visitors.
Here is the link to the home page:

Every time I let Duke out he gets fixated trying to see if there are any critters out by the pond. Duke has this thing about cows and I believe he thinks the deer are cows invading us. No "cow" will ever eat me with Duke on guard.
Here's a photo of Duke checking it out.

Bauer feels the same about deer. If he knew we fed them he would freak out!! When they come into the yard to eat the apples you would think we had been invaded by aliens. Bauer is not a fan.

Has Duke seen the night life or is he just sensing that they've been there?

Both. When he sees them he goes ape barking with every hair on his back raised. At night he will hear someting and start boofing quietly as if he's not quite sure if he needs to really bark. They don't stay out much at night so I always call him back in so he won't spook the visitors.

Uummmmm the thing that caught my eye was that table/bench thingy. It looks like the perfect outdoor reading table. It looks like it is slanted at just the right angle and everything for reading........ Or am I crazy? Wait - don't answer that.
