Morla, I read the ingredients on your food. The protein sources are listed as "meal"...this is not the same as meat. We feedTaste of the Wild Pacific Stream. It is great food! It sure made a big difference in Sophie!

Ingredients for TOTW: Salmon, ocean fish meal, sweet potatoes, potatoes, canola oil, salmon meal, smoked salmon, potato fiber, natural flavor, salt, choline chloride, dried chicory root, tomatoes, blueberries, raspberries, yucca schidigera extract, dried Enterococcus faecium fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus casei fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus plantarum fermentation product, dried Trichoderma longibrachiatum fermentation extract, vitamin E supplement, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, potassium iodide, thiamine mononitrate (vitamin B1), manganese proteinate, manganous oxide, ascorbic acid, vitamin A supplement, biotin, niacin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin (vitamin B2), vitamin D supplement, folic acid.

The first ingredient is Salmon. Your food has herring meal as the first ingredient, and 2 other meals as main ingredients.

It's a difficult decision, I switched from a lamb and rice when Sophie's hair was falling out...

"meal" is perfectly fine as an ingredient as long as they list the protein - in this case they list the specific fish "herring meal" so I would have no issues with that at all. In fact, I heard it was "better" to have the "meal" as a first ingredient.

    I feed Go! adult.

"meal" is better than just the meat listed because it has the water removed already. If "chicken" is listed as the first ingredient, once the water is removed it probably ends up quite a bit further down the list.

    I feed Royal Canin.

actually meal is the complete meat without the added water so you're actually getting more bang for your buck
