After dinner last night we went for a very short "hunt". We usually don't shoot anything here at our home property because of having a corn feeder next to the pond (bottom pic). Training pigeons are the only exception. However, after dinner last night I took Rusty out to see if we might get a shot at some Eurasian Doves that have started arriving from the North again. They are considerably larger than a regular Dove, are NOT protected in Texas and make excellent table fare.
Only shot a couple, and then took a ride around the pond to see how low the water's gotten. There were a couple groups of Mallards, Whistlers, 2 Blue Winged Teal WT and 3 Wood Ducks there.
We didn't even get a 1/4" of rain over the weekend and we're still down about 4 ft from normal levels. Not much in the forecast before the reg season opener next month.
I love the way he sits on the seat beside you.
Really nice pictures and what a gorgeous dog!
Yes you are!
If Carol and Grammy offered Rusty his favorite treats while at the same time as I was headed to the back door and asking "wanna go with Daddy?" ... better get out of the way ... he'll knock you down to get out the door if he can. He LOVES fetching.
Good pictures! That's a good looking dog!
Love the pics of him in the cart.
Sounds like he is a perfect family dog. Loves everyone, easy going and good looking.
He is gorgeous Jim. I am glad Carol shares him with you!!
