DefaultThe times you wish they could talk.

Kate, my usual free-spirited, fun loving girl, is sad. Dave & Abby left for their annual trip to Manitoba to duck hunt. Kate seems lost. We had a training session today, a nice long walk & several fun bumpers, but I can still see she is not happy. Last year Molly was with us & her & Kate were close, so when Abby was gone, it was no big deal. Since Molly died in May, Abby & Kate have gotten closer. They are always together. So now she is stuck to my side like glue. I wish she could tell me what she is feeling. I wish she could understand they will be back. They say dogs live in the moment, and all she knows is her routine & her friend are not here. It took her awhile to settle and go to sleep last night. She kept running downstairs to look out the window. Poor baby.

I guess I shouldn't tell her Abby is with 5 other labs.....she really won't like that.

Poor baby! Same thing happens here. When Diesel leaves without him (as Diesel is a frequent flyer at the vet's), Blaise will point his nose at the ceiling and HOWL mournfully. Then he pouts for the entire time Dee is gone.

It is never fun to be left behind. Boy would she be pissed if she knew what Abby is doing.

Sharon - Good thing Blaise didn't teach Kate that howling trick, don't think I could take that for two weeks.

Well at least she is with the best Momma ever!! Just let her use Dave's pillows, in a few days she will be just fine and he'll have to earn his pillow back when he gets home, hehe!

    Poor Kate.

The boys have never been separated, and I often wonder how they would react. They are not that close, and each was used to be an only dog before Champ came here, so I think they would be okay. I know each would love getting all the attention!

So sad - any chance of a play date to take her mind off it if only for a short time? Hugs, Katie girl!
