How sad & sickening. How the hell do you properly care for that many dogs? And if it is true a vet would come to that facility.....well..WTF is wrong with the vet?

I saw that on the news last night. What a stupid woman!! Makes me so angry to see so many dogs in such horrible conditions. I hope they really crack down on idiots like her.

There is still one store (chain?) in Ottawa that sells dogs - Little Critters Pet Shops - and I wonder if this lady was their source. There's one at the mall near me, and I won't shop at it, of course, because of this.

At the dog park several years ago, a lady told me about the golden retriever that she bought there, who ended up with many thousand $ of surgery. She sued the pet store, but settled out of court, and one condition (that she felt bad about) was that she couldn't go public with her situation. Her dog was a sweet but fragile dog - heartbreaking that puppy mills continue to have buyers.

Turns out some of my friends were there to help with the seizure of dogs I won't say anything about this place in particular until charges are proven in court (dogs could still be returned, this is just step 1) and this kennel has successfully sued someone for libel for saying they were a puppy mill on a chat board.

I will say this - even IF those dogs had great health care by a vet, even if they were properly fed and had plenty of fresh water daily. NO ONE can take care of that many dogs, these dogs are not socialized and so on. WHY are people buying from these types of places? How on earth would that sound like a good place to get a puppy?
