DefaultAhhh yes to have a puppy in the house again!!

I have a 5 month old yellow boy in for board and train. Owners keep him either in a crate or an outdoor run all the time, as it is too "wild" in the house. So, today, he has gone through 5 adult dogs, romping outside over about 5.5 hours. FINALLY he is asleep at my feet....as are all the others in the house. Another dog (Hoss and Kodi's brother) will be here shortly, and it will start all over again. This should be one tired pup by this evening!!

Good! So, I guess you are supposed to train the "wild" out of him?

Hehehe, they are on the camera, and for the most part are blurry images of yellow dogs streaking across the yard!!! God bless Thumper (another litter mate of Kodi and Hoss) who came back today for board and train before the duck season. Thumper is SUCH a good 'Aunt!' She takes a rope toy and dangles it in front of 'The Brat' and plays so well!!!! I may need to rent Thumper from time to time when I have these rowdy pups boarding....oh wait....with luck, I will have my own obnoxious pup in 11/2 months!!!

Oh ya, in 2-3 weeks please!!!!

Barkley really is a good pup, but is just that....a five month old energetic pup! Who, at this point is dead to the world asI type. Do I wake them all up for diner??? (yes my time clock is screwed up.......I am an insomniac....but the dogs are fed every 12 hours.

An ignorant question here...what is "board and train."? Do owners send you their dogs to train without learning the lessons themselves? Maybe I misunderstood. I always felt I was the one who really needed the training!

Most of the board and trains are for field work. Since The Brat is so young, we can not so that. But, this person wants some basic manners, walking politely on a leash, go to "place" not jumping on people. Yes, stuff that the owner has to enforce, but the basics will be there. The older dogs are doing a great job on teaching "enough!" I.e. Stop that rowdy behavior, you are being obnoxious. He is getting the gist of Leave It! already, which will help with a lot of his transgressions. He is only 5 months old, so he is in need of consistent discipline...and a lot of frolicking. There is a lesson with the owners when the dogs go home.

Poor thing, being kept in a crate or outside in a run all the time would make any puppy nutso. He just wants more time with his people!
